A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam email messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also essential to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming emails to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a web hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a lot of functions, but it is astonishingly easy to work with, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just one single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you will simply need to click on the "Catch-all" button for the given email address. Our system will warn you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or choose some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires one more click on the exact same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all option can be enabled without effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have created using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be listed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll see a mini button conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With just one click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the context menu that will come into sight. In case any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
